My must have baby items from a triplet mama who lived in 500sqft

The babies are 7 months old as of last week, and I’ve been reminiscing (sort of) about their early days while planning their 1st birthday party.

How they are almost a year old I have no idea, but thinking back reminded me of a topic I was always asked - what were my MUST HAVE baby items? What did we use in such a small space? ⁣

When we brought the babies home from the NICU, we were still living in our 500sqft house - to give some perspective, this technically falls into the “tiny house” category 😬 I had learned from mom groups I secretly lurked in prior to getting pregnant that a lot of baby stuff ends up being just that - “stuff.” Stressed out by clutter, I was adamant about bringing ONLY the essentials into our house, so for those curious what a mom of multiples couldn’t live without, here’s my list:

  • 🍼 Boppy: we fed the babies in these (still do)⁣

  • ⁣🧸 Mamaroo: a hit or miss with a lot of babies, but they provided a place for supervised awake time or safely contained them while I used the bathroom/changed a diaper ⁣

  • ⁣🛏 Sleep sacks⁣

  • 🧸 Wooden gym: the only toy we had and STILL have (minus some trinkets). We are able to place them under it for long periods of time to get things done around the house, which I guess is great for their development vs sticking them in a “container,” so that’s always a plus! ⁣

  • 🚽 Dekor Pail + wet bag: unnecessary for disposables, but for our recent switch to cloth diapering it’s been amazing at keeping those smells in. Had we not been in disposables as long as we were, we would have used it during the newborn days. ⁣

  • 🛏 Pacis: pacis are the most effective protective factor against SIDS and reduce the risk from baseline 90%! ⁣

  • 🚽 Changing pad⁣

  • 🍼 Burp cloths⁣

  • 🚗 Car Seats⁣

  • 🛁 Baby tub ⁣

  • 🚗 Stroller⁣

  • 🚗 Diaper bag ⁣

  • 🍼 Bottles ⁣

We’ve added a few things as they aged and reached different milestones - such as their @famokidsus play mat, bibs/baby bullet for solids, and a carrier for those Stage 5 Clinger days, but still use almost all of the above on a daily basis. Hope this is useful to any new or upcoming parents. If you have any other suggestions, I’d love to hear them!
